Experion CEO, Jay Garnett, Participates in Cannabis Legalization 2.0 Panel Discussion

On Thursday afternoon, Experion’s CEO Jay Garnett participated in a panel discussion hosted by the Business Council of British Columbia and Dentons Canada LLP to discuss the ‘’Business of Cannabis’’ on the one-year anniversary of the legalization of cannabis for recreational purposes.  Mr. Garnett shared the panel with Denton’s partner, Shea Coulson and Grant Thornton’s Director, Transactions & Valuations, Laura Morgan.

John R. Sandrelli, Denton’s Vancouver Office Managing Partner, delivered the opening remarks and introduced the panel. In his opening remarks, Mr. Sandrelli commented “Today marks the one-year anniversary of cannabis legalization for recreational purposes. The legalization of cannabis for recreational purposes really created a new industry, and from Denton’s perspective, it really has been a great industry, and Denton’s is happy to be a part of it. This is sort of an emerging business group coming out of nowhere, and it created a lot of opportunities – it provides for a fascinating case study one year. Today we will talk about the opportunities there are for investors, entrepreneurs, the role of BC Companies, and Canadian Companies, in general, will play in the global market for cannabis.”

It was a fascinating discussion with great insights on the industry and the future of cannabis 2.0.  We will provide notes and insights from the discussion for your read next week.
